Come on in, the Water is fine!
Keiretsu Forum Hawaii/Pacific Rim

Aloha Friends and Business Associates:

Did you know Hawaii is home to 1.3 million people (all islands)? 84.6% of adults 25 years or older hold high school degrees, and 26.2% hold a bachelor’s degree of higher. Class A gross rent per square foot is currently below $25.00. Hawaii boasts the highest employee retention rate in the nation, as people want to live in Hawaii first, and will stay at a job to continue enjoying the environment. Hawaii is strategically located between the mainland and Asia. The state has an extensive fiber optic infrastructure, and direct access to submarine fiber optics connecting all points throughout the Pacific Rim. Hawaii welcomes “dual-use” for many of their military facilities, and places special emphasis on the growth sectors including: Life Science, Astronomy and Space, Defense Technology, Commercialization Marine Sciences, Information and Communication Technology, Travel and Tourism (State’s number one revenue generator, Diversified Agriculture, Film and Digital Media, & Alternative Energy).

If your idea of Hawaii is Waikiki, The Grand Wailea, Kona or Pineapples….. Dove tail your next escape to Hawaii with our June 23rd meeting, and show up to your June graduation parties looking tanned, rested and happy that you came to our Forum! We are proud to be showcasing Keiretsu’s first Japanese based company San Sonoma.

To bring you up to speed, our last quarterly event was held on February 3, 2004 at Central Pacific Bank’s exclusive Banker’s Club on the 22nd floor of the Central Pacific Bank Building. The following companies presented:
  • Broadband ITV (BBiTV)
  • IMH
  • Zoom Systems
  • Best Places on Earth
BBiTV and Best Places are both local Hawaii-based companies. IMH and Zoom systems are California and Arizona based firms respectively. For many reasons, and especially in Hawaii, having a mixture of both local and outer Chapter firms present seems to be the right formula. Members from the Mainland have incentive to travel and attend the meeting not just because of the beautiful setting, but also the attraction of viewing new deal flow. Hawaiian members, potential members and sponsors benefit from both the financial support Keiretsu brings to their local companies, and community. Finally Mainland companies who travel to Hawaii to present, both support, and bolster our claim that our Chapter system is working to everyone’s advantage! Companies that received funding from presenting to the Keiretsu Forum Hawaii/Pacific Rim Chapter are BBiTV, Hoana Medical Systems and Zoom Systems.
