KeiretsuNews goes out to over 5,000 investors and entrepreneurs who are either members of Keiretsu Forum or friends of the family.

Our mission statement is “Great Association with Quality Deal Flow”. Founded in September 2000, Keiretsu Forum, www.keiretsuforum.com  now has nine chapters in: Northern California (San Francisco East Bay and Silicon Valley), Southern California (Westlake Village, Santa Monica, Long Beach and San Diego), Boston/New England, Chicago/Midwest and Calgary, Canada. 2004 was a very busy year with 30 fundings throughout our network of chapters.  As of December 2004, our members have now funded 66 companies.  Randy Williams, Founder & CEO, Keiretsu Forum

Join us for The Keiretsu Forum Charitable Foundation 3 rd Annual “Sports for Charity” Golf and Tennis Tournament on Monday May 2, 2005 at Castlewood Country Club.

Festivities include Silent Auction, Cocktails, Dinner, Live Auction, Music, Dancing and Awards Ceremony; all to follow directly after the sports events in the main ballroom. 100% of the proceeds will be donated to local deserving non-profit organizations. [FULL STORY]

Our Westlake Village member Richard Wolpert is Chief Strategy Officer of RealNetworks. His background is in Media and Technology, both as an entrepreneur and investor. Richard enjoyed running his own startup After Hours Software that he sold to Aldus (now Adobe), and working for a big conglomerate, i.e. Disney. PwC MoneyTree VC Survey ­ Q3 2004 Summary
VC investment in the US decreased 27% in Q3’04 to $4.3 Billion, vs Q2’03, and was flat vs Q3’04. Silicon Valley remained the #1 area for investment in Q3’04, getting 33% of the US dollars. Software remained the #1 category with roughly 22% of the vc dollars, although Biotechnology was a strong #2. 2005: A Positive Year for Equity

What will 2005 bring? In short, we believe that 2005 will be a positive year for the equity markets. GDP will be high enough to support job growth, but not high enough to cause significant inflation.
