2005 Sports for Charity Raises over $130,000!
Keiretsu Forum Charitable Foundation’s 3rd Annual Sports for Charity
event was the biggest ever with over $130,000 raised for non-profit organizations.
387 Keiretsu Forum members and friends participated in the auction and dinner,
which took place at the beautiful Castlewood Country Club in Pleasanton.
Highlights for the evening included live and silent auction items which raised
over $60,000, choral music by the Oakland School for the Arts, presentations
from several of the charities present including OPTIC, Foster A Dream and the
Foodbank of Contra Costa and music by Michael Fender and Friends. Two Keiretsu
Forum members matched the auction total, which added over $32,000 to the Charitable
Foundation funds. A special thanks to those anonymous donors for their extraordinary
generosity.
The winning golf foursome consisted of Larry Winsten, Lisa Winsten, Paul Klapper
and Jake O’Malley with a score of 59 or 11 under par. A formidable foursome
that even Tiger would have trouble beating.
In tennis, the winners were: Deborah Chan, Mark Miller, Bob Miller and Alice
Brinckerhoff.
The Sports for Charity Event is the primary fundraiser of the Keiretsu Forum
Charitable Foundation for the year. The funds will benefit a wide variety of
charitable organizations in which the members are involved. For more information
